Huntsville, AL – JBS Solutions, Inc., an engineering services firm that supports the National Aeronautics and Safety Administration (NASA) and the U.S. Department of War (DoW) has achieved Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 2 after a rigorous assessment by a Certified Third-Party Assessor Organization (C3PAO).
CMMC Level 2 certification is the gold standard for organizations that support federal missions, reflecting mature security controls, disciplined operational practices and sustained investment in cybersecurity governance. C3PAOs are authorized by The Cyber AB, official accreditation body of the CMMC ecosystem and the only authorized non-governmental partner of the DoW in implementing and overseeing the CMMC conformance regime.
JBS, which offers innovative solutions in mission operations, engineering services, logistics and transportation planning, partnered with Mission Multiplier, an organization that provides full spectrum IT, cybersecurity and compliance solutions. Mission Multiplier led its mitigation and compliance efforts to work through the requirements.
“Receiving this certification is a huge accomplishment for JBS and our team. The fact that we received this certification ahead of the government’s full implementation deadline of 2028 means that we are opening up even more opportunities in the government contracting arena," Chief Operating Officer Melanie Newton stated.
CMMC certification is a key requirement in the federal procurement landscape. It ensures the highest level of data security for mission-critical services and is an imperative for contractors handling Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI). It applies to prime contractors and subcontractors who process, store, or transmit CUI.
Newton continued, "I’m most excited that we can bid on new projects and pursue an expanded slate of opportunities to be an excellent partner as subcontractor and teammate to the space and defense industry."
JBS specializes in spaceflight planning, systems engineering and integration and mechanical design and analysis engineering.
The company started in 2012 with one contract at NASA Marshall Spaceflight Center. After CEO and President Sherrie Nash acquired the company in 2014, it has expanded its footprint in the federal missions arena to include work for the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), Missile and Space Intelligence Center (MSIC), Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM) and work on the Navy SeaPort NxG contract.
Nash oversaw the company’s push to become an SBA certified 8(A), Woman-Owned Small Business (WOSB) and Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB).
